Huntsville is a city primarily in Madison County in the Appalachian region of northern Alabama. It is the county seat of Madison County. Huntsville is located at 34°42′N 86°35′W (34.7, -86.6). The city has a total area of 210.0 square miles (543.9 km²). Huntsville has grown through recent annexations west into Limestone County, a total of 21.5 square miles (56 km²), or 13,885 acres (5,619 ha).
